I. M. PEI

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT, 2003

The long and distinguished career of Ieoh Ming Pei (American, born China, 1917), one of the twentieth century’s most important architects, began when he left China at the age of eighteen to study architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and MIT. Since then he has completed a stunning number of iconic designs for many international clients, including the Louvre Museum in Paris, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Bank of China, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH.
