Eva Zeisel’s (American, born Hungary, 1906) remarkable career spans more than seventy-five years and comprises thousands of designs that impart a sense of joy. According to Zeisel, the design process begins with a thought, then proceeds from sketches and notes to working drawings that lead to the finished design. Employing line and shape—the essence of form—Zeisel has created things of beauty for every budget. At the age of 102, Zeisel still actively designs for manufacturers such as Nambé, Crate & Barrel, and the Rug Company.
Eva Zeisel embodies the spirit of this entire exhibition.
I loved the fork and the exhibited elements of the design process.
