Etched designs from the Diverse maniere supplied ideas for Francois-Joseph Bélanger, as shown in these studies for a decorative commission from the 1770s for Queen Marie-Antoinette (indicated by the initials “MA”). Béanger’s right-hand andiron was inspired by those in the monopod design and from another chimneypiece in the Diverse maniere.
