Orio Medical-cord Organizer
A simple, elegant solution to the wire chaos found next to most hospital beds, the Orio medical-cord organizer acts as the collection point to prevent tangles, mismanagement, and kinks in tubes that could lead to a critical medicine or fluid being cut off to the patient. Tubes and wires easily snap on or release from the three-inch disc, which can be attached to any pole, rail, or equipment surrounding the patient, eliminating the need to tape cables together. Made from rubber developed especially for hospital use, it is 100% recyclable and can be washed and sterilized repeatedly without losing its effectiveness. Its light-blue color sets it apart from other clinical instruments and allows staff to write on it with a marker.
The Orio is designed by Martin Otto Fougner, a specialist in ergonomics, and Jørgen Leirdal, an expert in interaction design, both of whom were educated at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. The product was commissioned by Inora, a company developing innovative and functional products for people, from patients with health challenges to those working in hospitals. The organizing lifesaver was quickly brought to market in less than a year, winning two prestigious awards, and is now distributed in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and France, and soon in America and Asia.Location: norway
